Former Chief Security Offier to the late General Sani Abaja, Major Hamza Al- Mustapha has been sentenced to death for his role in the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of the late presidential aspirant Chief MKO Abiola. A Lagos High court, sentened Al-Mustapha who has been held in Ikoyi prisons while undergoing trial for over 10 years to death by hanging.
The court also sentenced to the same fate, Mr. Lateef Shofolahan, a former employee of the Abiola family and a co-conspirator of Major Al- Mustapha.
Al-Mustapha was found guilty of ordering a security agent to kill the wife of Moshood Abiola, a businessman widely believed to be the winner of an annulled 1993 presidential poll in Nigeria.
